| Association of Small and Medium Business - Region Sofia :: About NASMB The National Association of Small and Medium Business is a non-governmental employers' organization, which is constructed on the principle of confederation. The National Association of Small and Medium Business was established on 17 – th of June in the year of 2000 in the city of Sofia by 21 natural persons within the meaning of the Commercial Act. The constituent assembly selects Board of Managers with Chairperson Eleonora Negulova, executive director of commercial company “Snite”. The Association was re-registered in compliance with the Non-commercial Aim Juridical Persons Act on 04.04.2002. The Association’s holiday is 16-th of February, when the Sultan Mahmud II by his firman has approved the first Bulgarian manufactory, established in Sliven by Dobri Zhelyazkov – Fabrikadzhiyata /the Manufacturer/. The Association management has signed contract with SII, under which the association members receive significant discounts at utility buildings insurance, machines, transport carriages and etc. It has been also signed agreement with Bulgarian Association for Export Insurance and with the Centre for Economic Development concerning the development of model for Construction of Internet oriented data base containing information about the small and medium size enterprises in Bulgaria, as a part of ECON.BG – the economic portal of Bulgaria, as well as realization of joint projects, connected with the activity object of both organizations. At present 315 juridical persons and 165 natural persons are members of the National Association of Small and Medium Size Business. The companies, which are association members function in the branches of: agriculture, food and tobacco industries, telecommunications, light industry, machine building, trading, tourism, advertising and etc. The National Association has regional structures established in Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Burgas, Dobrich, Pleven, Vratsa, Yambol, Asenovgrad, Hisarya, Karlovo, Haskovo, Kardzhali, Sliven, Pazardzhik, Razgrad, Stara Zagora, V. Tarnovo, Kazanlak and Smolyan. The first branch associations were established – National Association of Municipal Cable Operators and Independent Association of Local Video Distributors in Bulgaria. The Independent association of milk producers, which consolidates farmers from all over the country, is a member of NASMSB since September 2001. The national association of small and medium size business has a partnership with the Agency of Small and Medium Size Enterprises, Centre for economic development, Employers’ Union, Association of industrial capital, Centre for development and enterprising, Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other non-government organizations. There are relations fulfilled with similar organizations in Western Europe and Balkans in international aspect.
